Can You Paint With All The Colors of the Wind?
Alfonso sang this to me yesterday in the car. I, of course answered, "No". I mean, what kind of question is this? Of course you can't. Wind is colorless. Unless maybe someone has broken wind who previously ate some magical colored beans. That, however is wind that I would avoid like the plague and certainly avoid painting with - regardless of color.

What Sweetness Looks Like
Yesterday was Alfonso & My 4th anniversay. He is so good to me. He knows I have a weakness for anything from The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery! He surprised me with these beautiful flowers and a dozen, A DOZEN gourmet cupcakes. It's hard to watch my figure and watch the cupcakes just sitting there in the box. "It's a no brainer", she says while putting every last crumb in her mouth. Thanks Alfonso. You're sweet.

Me and My Blog
Every morning now that school has started, I've been getting up at 6 a.m. I'm draggin' I come downstairs, open my laptop, go to my blogpage and start my Grooveshark Morning Playlist. It starts with Norah Jones and goes from Lionel Ritchie to Arcade Fire to The Boo Radleys to John Denver. I love it. Music energizes me, it calms me, it helps me put one foot in front of the other. Alfonso has learned that if I'm having a hard time, if he turns on the right kind of music, I am improved. Lately I've taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging but I feel ready to come back with a vengeance. So I just want to say, if you are still reading this blog, "thank you" for being patient with my sporadic posts. Thank you for caring about my inconsequential outlet. Thanks for being there. Just know that I'll be writing more often and that if you are having a rough morning, try the playlist. It goes great with pancakes.
Later.
Later.

Arrow Of Light
Tonight Spencer earned his Arrow of Light and several other awards at an outdoor pack meeting. I/we are SO proud of him and all his hard work. Honorable mention: my dad, Brandon, Nick, Carrie and Natalee were all attending in spirit. Their car broke down on the way to Heber. We just appreciate that they were willing to come. This was a really fun and special occasion.
First, Mia had to play with our friend's dog, Butter.
And give it a squdge.
Spirit Woman did a wonderful job.
The cubmasters, Spencer's scout leader, and some "wolves".
Alfonso spent most the night keeping Mia happy. (Thanks honey).
The sunset.
The ceremonial "mom drawing on the face" moment. He wasn't embarrased at all.
Spirit Woman made a necklace for Spence. It has many meaningful beads and a real coyote claw.
A round of applause.
Thanks to Spirit Woman and the Braves.
Annie tries on the headress and totally rocks it.
Here is Spencer and his wonderful Webelos leaders, the Hiltons.
CONGRATULATIONS SPENCER!!!

No Fish, Lots of Cows
We didn't catch any fish, but we caught a lot of new memories. Ben was with him mom, so didn't get to come. Grandma Jo and Grandpa Bill came. We had a wonderfully relaxing time (even with the rainstorm).
Mia explored extensively in the early morning hours.
Mom and I managed to get her back to camp.
Mia was fascinated with the local wildlife.
Good thing we had a tarp to sit under during the rainstorm!
You can't tell from this picture but the rain was POURING at this time!
Rain, rain, go away.
Mia reads with Grandma Jo. (After the rain stopped, the weather was beautiful!)
Typical Billy-Bob.
Cows were grazing near the camp. Who knows why.
It sure startled Will when he woke up Saturday morning.
Good morning Grandma Jo!
Good morning scary person.
Mia loves her yogurt!
The lake was so close!
So were the cows!
Beautiful Payson Lake!
Alfonso's favorite part of fishing. . . . not.
Spence and Will's favorite part of fishing.
Alfonso testing out his hammock. Extensively ;)
Surprise!
Surprise and the photo bomber.
We had so much fun during this time. We sat here and talked in the shade for hours. We played the alphabet game and told jokes and took random naps. It was unforgettable!
Spencer discovered a new favorite pass-time. Chopping firewood.
He prepared a great fire for us Friday night.
Thanks Mom and Dad, Alfonso, Spence, Will, Mia, and the Cows for an unforgettable weekend!
